Hi, I'm Randy
I first got involved with politics when I worked on the campaign to build a high school in Scotts Valley. We had three children and I wanted them to go to a local school, instead of having to attend somewhere outside our community.
I ran for City Council with the immediate goal of fixing Scotts Valley Dr. Some of you may or may not remember that Scotts Valley Drive was a pretty bumpy road with no underground utilities, no sidewalks and no bike lanes. Thankfully Measure D passed by nearly 90%! I often think about how we as a community were able to come together and equitably repair that main road for the betterment of our citizens and businesses alike.
Getting things done is important for any elected official and over the years I have tried to do just that.
Some of the milestones are:
Installed grass fields and playground at Skypark
Beautiful new library
Acquired community center
Started Fireworks and parade
1440 Multiversity and conference center
Scotts Valley is an unparalleled place to live and work—a small town in a beautiful natural setting, with a strong sense of community, first-class amenities, respect for the environment and great people. It is my intention, even during these difficult times, to keep all of those positive qualities intact and help keep Scotts Valley a wonderful community.
